Tuore selvitys kertoo, että Euroopassa toimii 298 autojen ja moottorien kokoonpanotehdasta.. Tehtaissa valmistetaan henkilö-, paketti-, kuorma- ja linja-autoja ja moottoreita. Näistä 196 toimii EU-maissa.

142 tehdasta Euroopassa valmistaa henkilöautoja, 38 tekee pakettiautoja, 58 tuottaa kuorma-autoja, 58 valmistaa busseja ja 71 tekee moottoreita. ACEAN 16 jäsenyritystä toimii 21/27 EU-maassa.

Maaliskuusta lähtien koronaviruksen takia on sulkenut tehtaita keskimäärin 29 työpäiväksi. Tästä on seurannut noin 2,3 miljoonan ajoneuvon tuotannon menetys toistaiseksi. Vaikka suuri joukko tehtaita on avannut tuotantonsa uudelleen, täyteen tuotantovauhtiin on vielä aikaa.
